“Merciful Father, we offer with joy and thanksgiving
what you have first given us –
our selves, our time, and our possessions,
signs of your gracious love.
Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us,
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Our newly formed Stewardship Committee continues to dive into what is means to “Be a GOOD Steward” by putting our focus for this first season of stewardship into how we can best offer with joy and thanksgiving, our selves. To offer our selves in a faith context means a daily, conscious surrender of our entire being to God’s purpose. This is a not a one-time event but a continuous choice to let God lead.

For me, a way that I try to choose to let God lead is to follow the words of Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” In our over-stimulated world, it takes a conscious effort to shut out the noise surrounding us and to LISTEN to what God is saying to us. It’s definitely not easy. I find myself too easily caught up in the hectic pace of our world around us. Through this season of stewardship, I hope to better reconnect with God through prayer, renewal and seeking God’s will by taking more ‘Be Still’ time. By withdrawing and ‘being still’ I will work to allow HIS presence to fill the space where worries often reside.
