Thy Strong Word
I’ve always loved singing this hymn, probably because it is a march and speaks to my German heritage. I love all the verses, but the one I like the best is verse 5. “Give us lips to sing thy glory; tongues thy mercy to proclaim; throats that shout the hope that fills us; mouths to speak thy holy name. Alleluia! Alleluia! May the light which Thou dost send; fill our songs with Alleluias, Alleluias without end.” And this is definitely a “pull out all the stops sing at the top of your lungs” hymn!
